Descrição:Hydroxymethyl resin is a type of ion-exchange resin that is used in analytical chemistry. It has been shown to bind to nuclear DNA, with a binding constant of 10-12 M. Hydroxymethyl resin is a model system for the study of DNA binding activity. The rate constants for the reaction between benzyl and benzalkonium chloride on hydroxymethyl resin have been determined using an analytical method. This process can be used as an indicator for bowel disease and squamous cell carcinoma. Hydroxytoluene (HT) and butylated hydroxytoluene (BHT) are antioxidants that can be added to inhibit oxidation when storing colloidal gold on hydroxymethyl resin.
