- Hydroxycarbonimidic Dibromide
Hydroxycarbonimidic dibromide is a chemical compound that has been shown to have an acid pH, a carbonyl group, and an insulin-resistance inhibiting effect. It also binds to piperazine and competes with protease activity. The molecular modeling of this compound shows that it is a nucleophilic and antimicrobial agent that can be effective at low doses against Gram-positive bacteria. Hydroxycarbonimidic dibromide also binds to serine proteases, which may account for its ability to inhibit the HIV virus from binding to cells.
