4-Hydroxy-2-oxo-1-pyrrolidineaceticacid is a metabolite of the drug clofarabine. It is an acid that has been used in pharmacokinetic studies to evaluate the kinetic parameters and elimination phase parameters of clofarabine. This study was conducted using a high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) with mass spectrometry (MS) detection, with reaction monitoring for quantification. The plasma concentrations were determined by flow rate and control levels. The results of this study indicate that 4-hydroxy-2-oxo-1-pyrrolidineaceticacid is rapidly eliminated from the body, with a half life of about 3 hours.
