N-Hydroxy-4-methylbenzenesulfonamide is a synthetic compound that is used in the treatment of inflammatory pain. It is an inhibitor of protein s6 and prevents metathesis reactions by acting as a nucleophile to attack the sulfur atom of sulfonyl compounds. The inhibition activity can be enhanced by changing the substituent on the triazole ring. N-Hydroxy-4-methylbenzenesulfonamide also has anti-inflammatory effects, which may be due to its ability to inhibit fibrosis in the kidneys.
