Descrição:3-Hydroxyanthranilic acid hydrochloride is a prodrug of 3-hydroxyanthranilic acid. It is metabolized by the liver to 3-hydroxyanthranilic acid, which inhibits the synthesis of proteins and blocks the formation of bacterial cell walls. The carboxyl group on this drug attaches to a hydrogen atom on the phenol group and forms a hydrogen bond with a protonated chloride atom to form an ionic bond. This drug also has an amino group that can donate a proton to become positively charged.
