3-Hydroxy-2,4,6-triiodobenzoic acid (3HITBA) is a molecule that is found in the urine of patients with chronic kidney disease. It is present in group P2 of the periodic table. 3HITBA has been demonstrated to have anti-inflammatory properties and may be useful for the treatment of inflammatory diseases. 3HITBA has been shown to inhibit cancer cell growth by inhibiting DNA synthesis and protein synthesis.
