Descrição:Hexyl gallate is a natural compound that is used in the treatment of herpes simplex virus. Hexyl gallate inhibits the replication of viruses by interfering with their DNA and RNA synthesis through its aromatic hydrocarbon moiety. Hexyl gallate also has antimicrobial properties, which are due to its ability to bind to bacterial membranes and inhibit protein synthesis. Hexyl gallate can be used as an alternative to antibiotics because it does not disrupt bacterial membrane permeability. Hexyl gallate also has genotoxic effects, which may be due to its benzyl groups or aromatic hydrocarbon moiety.
