• Descrição: 2-Hydroxypropyl-trimethylazanium chloride is a homologue of 2-hydroxypropyl-N,N,N′,N′-trimethylazanium chloride. It has been shown to be active in animal models of carotid artery injury and in vitro cultures of striatal neurons. The compound was found to be effective as an antihypertensive agent in spontaneously hypertensive rats and in human pathogens that are resistant to other drugs. 2-Hydroxypropyl-trimethylazanium chloride is also a cholinergic agonist that has been used as an analog for acetylcholine. This drug can cause spontaneous activity and stereoselectively inhibits blood pressure by increasing vasodilation of the cerebral arteries.
