5H-Pyrrolo[3,2-d]pyrimidin-4-amine is a ligand that binds to the receptor tyrosine kinase. It has been shown to inhibit the growth of certain types of cancer cells, including melanoma and breast cancer. 5H-Pyrrolo[3,2-d]pyrimidin-4-amine is also an analog of 2-(5'-hydroxypentyl)-5H-pyrrolo[3,2-d]pyrimidin-4(3H)-one. The compound has been shown to bind to and inhibit protein phosphorylases by binding to the phosphate group on the enzyme. 5H-Pyrrolo[3,2-d]pyrimidin-4 -amine can also bind to toll like receptors and therefore may be used as a potential anti inflammatory agent.
