3-Isocyanato-1H-indole is an organic compound that can be used in the synthesis of pharmaceuticals, pesticides, and other organic compounds. The chemical reacts with acyl halides to form 3-isocyanato-1H-indoles. It undergoes reductive hydrogenolysis to form 2,3-dihydrobenzenesulfonyl chloride. It is a reactive intermediate that can be used in the synthesis of various types of organic compounds. 3-Isocyanato-1H-indole can react with amines or urethanes to form isocyanates and it reacts with azides or chlorides to form isocyanates. In addition, it can react with alcohols to form alcoholysis products that are useful intermediates for synthesizing carbamates.
