5-Isopropyl-1H-pyrazole is a heterocyclic compound that is used as an oxidation catalyst. It has been shown to have the ability to accelerate the rate of oxidative degradation of polycyclic aromatic compounds, such as benzo[a]pyrene. The X-ray crystal structures of 5-isopropyl-1H pyrazole and its derivative with malonic acid have been determined. In addition, it has been shown that this molecule can be used for the treatment of inflammatory diseases by inhibiting the synthesis of prostaglandins and leukotrienes. 5-Isopropyl-1H pyrazole also inhibits chronic kidney disease through its ability to inhibit fatty acid synthesis in the liver.
