- 6-Iodoindole
6-Iodo-1H-indole is a cyclic peptide that is made up of six amino acids. It binds to calcium and has been shown to be sensitive to oxidation, which can cause it to form reactive intermediates. 6-Iodo-1H-indole is a tricycle molecule that contains three rings and one side chain with an indole group. The molecule has been shown to bind to the active site of myxobacterium cyclase and inhibit the enzyme’s activity in cell culture. 6-Iodo-1H-indole reacts with palladium complexes in a reductive process to form cross coupling products. This reaction also produces allosteric inhibitors, which are molecules that regulate the activity of other molecules by binding at an allosteric site on the target protein.
