2-Isopropylthiophenol (2ITP) is a phosphazene that can be used to prepare reactive substrates, such as fatty acids, disulfides, and phosphonate compounds. It has been shown to have a strong reducing power and can be used for the synthesis of chitosan nanoparticles. 2ITP is insoluble in water and reacts with metal ions to form transition metal complexes. 2ITP has been found to react with gold nanoparticles in the reduction of nitrobenzene and the synthesis of amino acid derivatives.
