The synthesis of this chemical can be achieved by reacting an alkyl halide with boric acid. This compound also has tautomeric forms and stereoisomers that are important for its activity as an antiviral agent. 2-Isopropylboronic acid, pinacol ester is soluble in organic solvents such as dichloromethane or chloroform. This chemical can also be used to synthesize nanotubes with supramolecular properties.
