N-(Iodoacetylaminoethyl)-5-naphthylamine-1-sulfonic acid is a fluorescent probe that binds to calcium. It has been used as a fluorescence probe in the study of enzyme activities, kinetic data, and reaction mechanisms. N-(Iodoacetylaminoethyl)-5-naphthylamine-1-sulfonic acid has also been used as a substrate for aminotransferase activity and polymerase chain reactions. This compound can be used in the detection of proteases and dextran sulfate, and it has been shown to have high resistance against many enzymes. N-(Iodoacetylaminoethyl)-5-naphthylamine-1-sulfonic acid was crystallized in an X-ray crystal system and studied by flow systems.
