Descrição:Isoflupredone acetate is a synthetic corticosteroid that has been used in the treatment of inflammatory diseases, such as rheumatoid arthritis and asthma. This drug binds to the glucocorticoid receptor, blocking steroidogenesis and thus inhibiting the production of cortisol. Isoflupredone acetate can be detected in urine samples for up to 4 days after administration. Preparations containing this drug are often taken in tablet form with sodium succinate as a stabilizer. The sample preparation process involves dissolving the tablet in an acid solution, which releases the active ingredient into solution so it can be analyzed by GC-MS or LC-MS/MS. Isoflupredone acetate has been shown to increase energy expenditure and reduce body weight gain in rats with experimentally induced diabetes mellitus.
