Isoquinoline-8-carboxylic acid (IQCA) is a small molecule that inhibits the activity of protein kinases. It has been shown to induce apoptosis in human cancer cells, which may be due to its ability to inhibit cycle progression by inhibiting protein synthesis. IQCA has also been shown to be potent against cancer cells and has been found to inhibit the expression of p53 and other proteins. Isoquinoline-8-carboxylic acid is an alkaloid that was first isolated from plants in China.
