Indenyl titanium (IV) trichloride is a metal complex that is used as a cocatalyst in the polymerization of vinyl alcohol, styrene, and hydrocarbons. It has been shown to form crystalline structures in the solid state and has a melting point of over 300°C. This complex can be used to copolymerize styrene with other monomers such as vinyl acetate and methyl methacrylate to form polystyrene. This compound is also known for its 13C-NMR spectroscopy, which was used to determine the structure of the molecule.
