Indolicidin is a peptide that has been shown to have antibacterial efficacy against opportunistic fungal pathogens. It has also been shown to have antimicrobial properties against Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria, as well as antiviral properties. Indolicidin is an enzyme that belongs to the class of peptides. The antimicrobial activity of indolicidin has been confirmed in vitro using model systems for Gram-positive bacteria, Gram-negative bacteria, and viruses. Indolicidin has also been shown to inhibit influenza virus replication in vitro. In addition, indolicidin has demonstrated anti-inflammatory properties by inhibiting prostaglandin synthesis in vivo.
