TP-472N also binds to ion channels and has been shown to have therapeutic potential in treating diseases such as Alzheimer's disease, Parkinson's disease, and epilepsy.TP-472N has been shown to bind with high affinity and selectivity to the N-terminal domain of the acetylcholine receptor (AChR) in the mammalian neuromuscular junction by blocking ACh binding. This results in a significant increase in muscle contractions.
