Lead carbonate also emits light when irradiated with infrared light or X-rays, which may be due to its redox potential. The FT-IR spectrum of this compound contains peaks at 1681 cm−1 (C=O), 1071 cm−1 (C=C), and 788 cm−1 (C=N).
