L-Leu-Gly-Gly-OH is a synthetic substrate for the pancreatic enzyme trypsin. It has been used in kinetic studies to determine the kinetic parameters of this enzyme. The ph optimum of L-Leu-Gly-Gly-OH is 7.5, and it has a high proteolytic activity at a ph of 8 or higher. L-Leu-Gly-Gly-OH hydrolyzes rapidly at neutral pH but not at acidic pH. It also has a low diploid uptake rate and is not degraded by protease activity.br>
L-Leu, Gly, and Gly are all amino acids that occur naturally in proteins.br>
