Lithium fluoride (LiF) is a chemical compound that has high chemical stability and kinetic energy. It can be used as a laser medium or to generate light in the infrared region. Lithium fluoride is used to produce fluorine gas by reaction with hydrochloric acid, which is then reacted with hydrogen fluoride to produce hydrogen trifluoride.
