• Descrição: Levamlodipine is a calcium channel blocker that is used to treat hypertension or high blood pressure. It prevents the entry of calcium into the cell by blocking voltage-gated calcium channels. Levamlodipine has been shown to be safe and effective in lowering blood pressure in patients with hypertension. The drug is not metabolized and can be detected in the blood for up to 24 hours after administration. Levamlodipine besylate, the active form of levamlodipine, is converted into its active form by esterases and glucuronidases in the liver and kidneys. This conversion takes place at a constant rate, resulting in a concentration–time curve that can be described using mathematical models.
