Lysine clonixinate is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) that is used to treat pain, inflammation and fever. It is effective in the treatment of infectious diseases, statistically. Lysine clonixinate has been shown to have an antiviral effect against influenza virus and HIV. Lysine clonixinate also exhibits a protective effect against bacterial infections in animals with bowel disease.

Lysine clonixinate has been studied for its potential use in inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). Studies have shown it may be effective in treating IBD by reducing the number of symptoms, such as diarrhea and abdominal pain, which are common in IBD patients. However, more research needs to be done before lysine clonixinate can be used to treat IBD patients.
