Fmoc-His(Trt)-OH is a synthetic antimicrobial peptide that belongs to the class of acetylcholine. The peptide was found to inhibit the growth of a number of bacterial genera, including Pseudomonas, Acinetobacter and Burkholderia. The sequence of Fmoc-His(Trt)-OH is acetylated at the N-terminus and amidated at the C-terminus. This peptide has been found to have a broad spectrum of activity against drug resistant bacteria. It has also been shown to be active against mammalian cells in addition to bacterial cells, suggesting it may have therapeutic potential for humans as well as animals.
