2-Methylmercaptobenzothiazole is a biologically active compound that is generated by the reaction between 2-methylbenzothiazole and hydrochloric acid. It has been shown to activate in vitro assays, such as hydroxylation of logistic regression. In vivo, this compound has been shown to inhibit pancreatic enzyme activity and n-dimethyl formamide, which affects the proliferation of K562 cells. The biological function of 2-methylmercaptobenzothiazole is not well understood.
