Magnesium hydroxide is a metal hydroxide that has been used as an ion-exchange resin in wastewater treatment. It is also used to remove hydrogen fluoride from natural gas, and in the production of magnesium metal. Magnesium hydroxide is formed by reacting magnesium salt with water vapor at high temperatures. The reaction solution can be analyzed by electrochemical impedance spectroscopy to determine the particle size distribution.
