It has been shown to reduce the production of brain natriuretic peptide (BNP) by the kidneys and to increase blood flow in the lungs. 2ME2EAE has also been shown to have positive effects on blood pressure, glycerides, and fatty acid levels in animals with congestive heart failure. 2ME2EAE can be taken orally or injected into the pleural cavity. It should not be given intravenously as it may cause kidney damage.
