Methyl 2,3-difluorobenzoate is a monosubstituted fluorobenzene with a magnetic moment of 2.8 B.M. The spectrum of this compound consists of four lines in the visible region and nine in the infrared region. The resonance spectra show two absorption bands at 2300 cm-1 and 2700 cm-1. The nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) spectrum has peaks at 8.5 ppm, 9.0 ppm, 10.5 ppm and 11.6 ppm, which correspond to the protons on the methyl group, benzene ring and fluorine atom respectively. Methyl 2,3-difluorobenzoate was analysed using spectral constants from literature sources that are available online to calculate its molecular weight as 218 g/mol and its melting point as 63 °C.br>br>
