Methyl 2-amino-4-ethyl-5-methylthiophene-3-carboxylate is a potential pharmacokinetic. It has been shown to have a good pharmacokinetic profile and an allosteric modulator activity in vitro. Methyl 2-amino-4-ethyl-5-methylthiophene-3-carboxylate can bind to the cannabinoid receptor type 1 (CB1), which is a G protein coupled receptor that inhibits cAMP production. This may lead to agonism of the CB1 receptor, which could be useful for treatments of pain, inflammation, or mood disorders.
