2-(4-Methoxyphenyl)azepane is an antimicrobial agent that inhibits the growth of bacteria. It was shown to be effective against a range of bacterial strains by adsorbing onto their surface and disrupting cell membranes. 2-(4-Methoxyphenyl)azepane has been shown to have no effect on the dry weight of bacterial cells, but it does show an inhibitory effect on microbial growth in the presence of sulfate. 2-(4-Methoxyphenyl)azepane is insoluble in water, so it cannot be administered orally or intravenously. This drug can be given as a hydrochloride injection for external use only.
