This process leads to the formation of active metabolites which are excreted in urine or bile. N-(4-Methoxyphenyl)ethane-1,2-diamine also inhibits nitroalkanes with activated aromatic rings, such as 4-nitrobenzaldehyde and 2,4,6-trinitrobenzene.
