- Methyl 3-(4-Bromophenyl)Prop-2-Enoate
- methyl (2E)-3-(4-bromophenyl)prop-2-enoate
Methyl-4-bromo cinnamate is a cross-coupling agent that can be used to synthesize aryl chlorides, phenylpropionic acid, and cinnamic acid derivatives. It has been shown to induce apoptotic cell death in human ovarian carcinoma cells. Methyl-4-bromo cinnamate is also an inhibitor of histone deacetylase activity. This inhibition leads to the acetylation of core histones and the subsequent transcriptional activation of genes that promote cell cycle arrest and differentiation.
Methyl-4-bromo cinnamate is a dipole that has strong electron withdrawing abilities and can be used in immobilized cross-coupling reactions with aryl halides.
