3-Methyl-butanoic acid (3,6-dioxo-1,4-cyclohexadien-1-Yl)methyl ester is a chemical compound. It is an intermediate in the synthesis of natural products such as alkaloids and antibiotics and has been used to synthesize various polymers. This compound is also used for assays that measure the effectiveness of anti-cancer drugs on cells. 3-Methyl-butanoic acid (3,6-dioxo-1,4-cyclohexadien-1-Yl)methyl ester has been shown to be an effective anti cancer drug against P. aeruginosa and isovaleric acid. The effective dose of this drug was determined using a spectrometric assay that measures the level at which the cells stop growing.
