- 2-Methylpropanediamide
2-Methylmalonamide is a molecule that inhibits the growth of cancer cells by interfering with the activation of growth factor receptors. It is an amide derivative of malonic acid and has been shown to inhibit tumor cell proliferation and induce apoptosis in vitro. 2-Methylmalonamide has also been shown to inhibit the growth of tenella, a filamentous bacterium that causes skin infections in humans. This compound binds to the quinoline derivatives in the bacterial cell wall and inhibits protein synthesis, leading to cell death by inhibiting the production of proteins vital for cell division. 2-Methylmalonamide has been shown to have anticancer activity both in vitro and in vivo. This compound also has potent antitumor activity against human prostate cancer cells.
