Methylmagnesium bromide is an organometallic compound that is used in organic synthesis. It is a colorless liquid at room temperature and pressure, which has a basic structure with a methyl group attached to the magnesium ion. The methyl group that is attached to magnesium ion can be replaced by other organic groups, such as allyl carbonate. This reaction is known as Grignard reaction and it is important for many reactions in organic synthesis.
