2-(3-Methoxyphenyl)acetamide is a compound that belongs to the class of inhibitory agents. It has been shown to inhibit the growth of verticillium by aminocarbonylation and has been used in treatments for plants. 2-(3-Methoxyphenyl)acetamide is also known to be an anti-fungal agent, which has been found to be most effective against Verticillium dahliae when it is activated with piperidine. The compound has been shown to reduce the size of juvenile lettuce plants and show a potent effect on plant cell morphology.
