Methyl 4-oxotetrahydrofuran-3-carboxylate is a tetrahydrofuran with an acyclic structure. It has a potency of 100 µM and is selective for the human receptor. Methyl 4-oxotetrahydrofuran-3-carboxylate binds to the human receptor and activates it, leading to an increase in intracellular cAMP levels. This compound has been shown to have significant affinity for the 5HT2A receptor and can be used as a potential drug lead.
