Mesoridazine is a low-potency first-generation antipsychotic. It is used to treat chronic schizophrenia and psychotic disorders, such as paranoid schizophrenia, where the patient suffers from hallucinations and delusions. Mesoridazine may also be prescribed in combination with other antipsychotics for the treatment of acute psychosis or mania. This drug may be administered orally or by injection. The mechanism of action of Mesoridazine is not fully understood, but it has been shown to block dopamine receptors. Clinical studies have shown that this drug can help to reduce symptoms of psychosis, such as delusions and hallucinations, although it does not work for everyone. In addition, it can help patients with depression and anxiety disorders.
