7-Methyl-1,5,7-triazabicyclo[4.4.0]dec-5-ene is a hydrogen bond acceptor that can be used to form intramolecular and intermolecular hydrogen bonds. It also has the ability to bind to disulfide bonds and form a hemolytic complex with hydrogen fluoride. This chemical compound is an anti-tuberculosis drug that binds to the 16S ribosomal RNA of Mycobacterium tuberculosis, inhibiting protein synthesis and cell division. 7-Methyl-1,5,7-triazabicyclo[4.4.0]dec-5-ene is also a proton donor due to its kinetic properties.
