Descrição:Methyl 4,4-dimethyl-3-oxopentanoate is a divalent hydrocarbon that is used as an industrial chemical. It has been shown to be a cross-linking agent that can be used as a sealant in polyurethane foam. The aliphatic hydrocarbon also has genotoxic activity and can cause mutations in DNA. Methyl 4,4-dimethyl-3-oxopentanoate reacts with the fatty acid ester to form an imine nitrogen and carbonyl group, which are reaction products. The isopropyl group on methyl 4,4-dimethyl-3-oxopentanoate is also reactive and will react with the alkynyl group on another molecule to form a new compound.
