Descrição:7-Methoxy-d-tryptophan (7MT) is a synthetic compound that has been shown to have a variety of biological activities. It has been found to be an active natural product, and can be produced by the reductive coupling of pyrrole with an ethyl ester of L-tryptophan. This synthesis is regiospecific and stereospecific, and is achieved through the use of palladium-catalyzed cross-coupling. 7MT has been used in the synthesis of several biologically active compounds and has advanced synthetic chemistry. It is arguably one of the most important advances in synthetic chemistry over the last few decades.
