Informação sobre produto
Cis-4-methyl-2-pentene is an unsaturated fatty acid that has been investigated as a model molecule for studying the effects of chlorine and chloride. Cis-4-methyl-2-pentene reacts with thianthrene to form monoadducts, which are compounds with only one reactive site. The reaction scheme involves two steps: (1) the chlorine atom in cis-4-methyl-2-pentene attacks the double bond on thianthrene to form a reactive intermediate and (2) this intermediate reacts with cis-4-methyl-2-pentene to form the monoadduct. The activation energies for these two steps have been determined using constant rate experiments. Aziridines are a series of organic compounds that can be formed from cis-4 methyl 2 pentene and are used as model molecules for studying reactions of organic compounds with chlorine.
