Informação sobre produto
- o-(2-Methoxyethyl)phenol
2-Methoxyethylphenol (2-MEHP) is a chemical compound that is used as a polymerization initiator in the manufacture of plastics. It has also been shown to have sublethal effects on organisms, such as light emission and morphology changes. 2-MEHP is produced by the reaction of 2-methoxyethanol with hydrogen peroxide in the presence of a metal catalyst, such as copper. This reaction mechanism can produce a variety of different products, including 2-methoxyethylphenol, 2-methoxyethyl ethers, and ketones. The diameter of these particles ranges from 1.5 to 10 micrometers, which are larger than most atmospheric particles due to their high reactivity. These particles are soluble in water and may be found in environmental pollution or reactive polymer films that emit light when illuminated with ultraviolet light.
