This mechanism has not been confirmed, but it is thought that in some cases, methyl 3-mercaptobenzoate may also be able to transport iridoid glucosides. Methyl 3-mercaptobenzoate is most effective when used in conjunction with other agents like chrysomelidae and salicylaldehyde.
