• Descrição: N-Methyltryptamine hydrochloride is a chemical that has been shown to be an antagonist of the serotonin receptor 5-HT7 in vivo. This drug is also a potent inhibitor of acetylcholinesterase, which may be due to its ability to inhibit the methylation of serotonergic receptors. It has been shown to have clinical efficacy in treating depression, although it is not currently approved by the FDA for this use. N-Methyltryptamine hydrochloride has been shown to have an antidepressant effect in wild-type mice and in mouse models of depression. It inhibits the growth of cancer cells by inducing apoptosis and inhibiting cell proliferation.
