Descrição:Mivacurium chloride is a neuromuscular blocking agent that is used to facilitate endotracheal intubation and surgical anesthesia. It has been shown to have low potency, which may be due to its rapid hydrolysis in blood and tissues. Mivacurium chloride has a short duration of action, which is attributed to the fast hydrolysis by plasma cholinesterase. This drug also has diagnostic value for determination of the presence of brain infarction by measuring the level of mivacurium in cerebrospinal fluid samples. The clinical relevance of mivacurium chloride includes its use as an adjunct for general anesthesia and for muscle relaxation during surgery.
