The UV irradiation of methyl 4-vinylbenzoate leads to the formation of benzoates from the benzylic hydrogen atom, which are then polymerized to form polyvinylbenzene dendrons. Decarboxylation leads to the formation of radical coupling amines that can be used in organic synthesis reactions.
