2-Methylpiperazine is a viscosity modifier which is not soluble in water. It has nitrogen atoms that are incorporated into the molecule. 2-Methylpiperazine has a p2 group on its molecular structure, which can be seen using x-ray diffraction data. 2-Methylpiperazine has a number of stable complexes with different carbon sources and it has been observed to have an activation energy of 5.1 kcal/mol at 298 K. 2-Methylpiperazine is used as a viscosity modifier in the manufacturing process of several substances, including paint and ink, and can be found in some cosmetics.
